of Spain, warm and dry throughout the year,
with little rain and a large number of hours
of sun a year. Temperatures reaching no
lower than an average of 13º C in the
winter and no higher than an average of
25º C in the summer. A perfect all
year round climate.
190 km of Unspoilt Coastline
From the dune belt spread with salt ponds
on the western coastline through to the
Cabo de Gata with its fine sands and isolated
coves, protected by mountains and cliffs.
And finishing with the beaches of Vera,
for those wishing to get closer to nature
with its splendid naturist beaches. Something
for everyone where tourism meets nature.

10,000
years of History
The Bronze age sites of Los Millares and
El Argar are landmarks in the prehistoric
evolution of Spain, Almería also
contains traces of the Tartessos, Phoenicians,
Greeks and Carthaginians who all came to
mine the rich seams of silver. The Romans,
who arrived here from about the 3rd century
B.C., named the capital of Almería,
Portus Magnus, and dominated the area until
the late arrival of the Visigoths in the
7th Century, Nevertheless, the influence
of the Arabs, who held these lands for nearly
eight centuries, was the most important
of them all.
